H.O.G HANOI & SAIGON. CHAPTERS, VIETNAM CHAPTER Custom tour Denver, Sturgis, Denver...

Samstag, 12. August 2017 | Robert Stoll / Marko Bauer | Nord- und Südamerika

The Mile High City..
Traffic jam....Rocky Mountain National Park.

We left Laramie, Wyoming  bright and early....  We headed southeast towards Loveland Colorado then pointed out bikes west.   ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, greeted us with beautiful sunshine...  We climbed to over 12,000 feet above sea level..(4000 meters) this is where the waters of the mighty Colorado River begins...   Then we followed U.S. 40 over Berthod Pass...and then I 70 to Denver. This fantastic tour through Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and South Dakota has finally cone to an end.   The diversity and sights were amazing. We met so many folks that were so curious about our group. STURGIS is always fun, this time was special for all of us on this ride.  We were greeted with smiles every where we traveled.what an experience, ...,it was one none of us will soon forget. Memories last for a life time, travel is the best investment one can make.....  So long from Denver, COLORADO!!

Rapid City - Laramie

We are on our way back home, after two great days in Sturgis! One more loop through the Black Hills brought us to the Crazy Horse Memorial, which might one day be the largest statue in the world. Then we crossed the Colorado/WYoming border - and were greeted with a little three minute rainshower. But after a real American lunch in Lusk the clouds had disappeared. We continued our ride through Wyoming until we reached Laramie, where we will spend the last night before returning to Denver.

Back in Wyoming

Today was another day in Sturgis...  Most of the group headed to Rapd City Harley Davidson....and then to Sturgis to just take in the rally sights and sounds.  Three of us headed to Badlands National Park for a great ride and to see another gem in the USA.

Sturgis
Hmmmm....... Found on a railing at ONE EYED JACKS saloon in Sturgis......looks like it has been here a couple years....., wonder how that happened.
It's good to be back!!!!

Sturgis!!! Here we are, ready to party. But first we needed to explore the highlights of the Black Hills: Mt. Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road and Needles Hwy. And now it's time to join the rally - Sturgis!!!

Another long day waited for us, with three States on the way. We started in Montana, crossed Wyoming and ended up in South Dakota! Here was the main destination for this Harley-Davidson tour: Sturgis! The 77th rallye had just started - and our group of Vietnamese H.O.G. members would be part of it!

What an incredible day in an incredible country. The diversity of the USA is simply amazing.  We started in the chill of the morning at 7 and pointed out bikes towards Grand Tetons National Park. The scenery was breathtaking. The air chilled. The Sun slowly warmed our spirits as we hit Jackson Wyoming.   A few miles later we saw the Grand Tetons in all its glory...Then we rode right into Yellowstone...  Geysers, Buffalo, rivers, Forrest, mountains. A Harley Riders paradise.   Just when we thought it could not get any better we conquered Bear Tooth Pass....  37 degrees Fahrenheit..  (2.7C) and thick fog with low visibility greeted us on top of this EPIC pass...  We just smiled and took it all in...,Finally we hit Red Lodge in the great State of Montana for the night......tomorrow, we ride to the biggest and best motorcycles rally in the world...  STURGIS!!  We will shack up for three nights in Rapid City.....  which is just down rmthe highway...  STURGIS 2017.."I rode mine"

Today we visited three states - we started in Colorado, passed through Utah and ended in Wyoming. Our first stop was the Dinosaur National Monument. Have you ever touched real dinosaur bones, more than 100 Mio years old? If not, this is the place to go. We continued north, where we encountered about 2 minutes of a heavy shower...no complaints, compared to the 9 hours of sunshine we had today. Our next viewpoint was initially hidden - but as soon as you reach the edge of the Flaming Gorge, you will be absolutely fascinated. Here we also had lunch... and then we continued into Wyoming, where long and fairly straight roads led us towards our destination, Pinedale. But in the distance, we can already see the mountains - a little appetizer for what's ahead tomorrow!

Sun greeted us in Denver this morning...  We headed southwest on Highway 285 out of Denver.  We climbed Kenosha Pass, Red Hill Pass.... Hoosier Pass.  We dropped down into the ski Resort town of Breckenridge for a tasty lunch. North towards Kremmling..,over Rabbits Ears pass, through Steamboat Springs, which is another world class ski resort and finally into Craig in the Northwest corner of Colorado.  The Rocky mountains in Colorado is a fabulous trail of twists, curves, ups and downs..   A fabulous place on the planet indeed....  What a fantastic day!!!
