High Alpine Tour (HAT2104)

We are back in the business of Touring again - and it feels GREAT! Dominik and I looking forward so much to leading this tour and showing our guests around the marvellous Alps, riding through Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, with a lightning visit to Liechtenstein thrown in to boot.

Day 1:Arrival in Erding

Some guests have already arrived on Saturday, so Sunday morning starts for them with a guided city tour of Munich. 

Sunday Morning first stop - Weisses Brauhaus for a traditional Weisswurstfruhstuck.
Followed by a trip up the "Alte Peter" - 199 steps to the top!

Day 2:Erding to Lienz
First stop Wasserburg am Inn to view the bridge.
Coffee stop at Chiemsee.
You can just about see Schloss Herrenchiemsee
Crossing into Austria
Arriving at the top of Grossglockner

Dana makes it to Grossglockner for the second time
For Daughter Carly its the first time!

Day 3:Lienz to Bolzano
It's another stunning day in the Alps
Dominik makes the daily briefing.
The group is ready to go. A spectacular day in the Dolomites awaits........

Day 4:Rest Day tour around Bolzano
Mendel Pass is our first stop today.
Stunning views from Monte Penegal
The locals don't seem fazed......

After a relaxing afternoon in Bolzano the group enjoys Pizza, washed down with plenty of wine and beer

Day 5:Bolzano to Pontresina
Another full day of riding ahead. Domink delivers the Daily briefing.
High expectations from todays ride.
The groups sets off. Passo dello Stelvio / Stilferjoch awaits........
Last coffee before Stelvio……

Now we climb the Stelvio
The first hairpin bend for everybody...........
In beautiful weather we reach the top of the pass
All have successfully conquered the queen of alpine passes........
Now everyone enjoys Bruno´s special sausage after work is done

The next stop at the Gavia Pass
.....and at the Bernina Pass with a stunning view over the mountains
After a very hard days riding everyone enjoys a Boot Beer

Day 6:Pontresina to Warth
The group sets off for the day
First stop of the day Albula Pass
Time for a quick coffee stop in Lenzerheide
Chef Dominik has prepared a lunchtime picnic for us
We have some noisy neighbours for lunch
But it doesnt stop Tom from taking a quick powernap, while Peter checks his messages
Father and Son (Michael and Peter) are enjoying the tour
Vaduz Castle, home of the Liechtenstein Royal Family
But it's way too hot to stand around for long......
In the afternoon we stop for a drink at Furkajoch, but even up here it is still very warm
But we have beautiful views from here
The group rides over the Hochtannberg Pass on the way to Warth
We had an excellent dinner at the end of the day

Day 7:Warth to Erding
Dominik makes the first briefing of the day.......
but his second one is a little better!!
Its another awesome day in Austria
The group sets out on the last ride of the Tour......
here we are at Neuschwanstein Castle
after a nice ride through the foothills of the Alps......
........the group had found a perfect place for lunch and enjoied the view over Lake Starnberg in the cooling wind
back in Erding we sit togehter with a cold beer and let the tour end comfortably.
Everyone describes their personel highlights of the tour. It´s was a wonderful trip through the alps with perfect weather and not one raindrop
