Right in front of Attersee - one of Austrias lakes
By the way, this is the view out of our hotel room - Gmunden am Traunsee

Riding day 3: from Gmunden to Fohnsdorf

Stift Admont, the oldest library in the world in a monastery. With more than 200000 books dating back to the 13th and 14th century.
And some beautiful sculptures
The church is also very beautiful.
Don't clime on the logs it says. That sounds tempting....
And what a luck! There was some racing going on at the Red Bull racetrack!

Riding day 4: Fohnsdorf to Villach - Entering the South of Austria

We checked out some alternatives at the Lipizzaner Heimat in Steiermark, but decided to stay with our Harleys.
After a great lunch and some very nice roads, we were able to familiarize ourselfs with the afternoon route down the Drau-Tal to Villach from a Viewpoint overlooking the whole Valley.
Our Harleys parked right at the foot of the Pyramidenkogel-Tower.
The Pyramidenkogel-Tower offers a stunning view over the whole area and a 51 meter slide down to the entrance again.

Rest day: Nockalm pass

Nick is ready to set the fastes time at the summer rodelbahn
1:07, who will beat this time?
Over 2000 mtr/6000ft: on top of the Nockalm. A beautiful ride! One of the many reasons to ride in the Alps. Stuning views, cows on the road and many motorcycles along the way.

Rest day: into Slovenia and Italy

Inspection of the bikes before departure. Uwe is happy with what he sees!
Trying to find a perfect picture in Slovenia at the Vrsic-Pass
Now Diane found it.
Gravel parking at the top of Margan Road. Sun is shining, smiling people and a coffee to come. Perfect conditions to be happy. In the back you can also see our coffee stop.
One more impression down the steep mountain we were just riding up. Tom and Diane near the abyss.
Wes scouting for our way down. Afterwards we decided to go with the road.
After visiting Slovenia with the cobblestone switchbacks and dark tunnels we all had some very nice food and drinks at the European Bike Week in the afternoon.
And many bikes!
Wes trying out the Harley Davidson electric motorcycle, suits him!
A special Hayabusa, Egyptian style
And at night, a walk thrue beautifully Villach. Of course bikers are welcome.

Riding day 5: From Villach to Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy

The group is happy and ready to leave Villach behind.
Let´s roll!
Entering the Dolomites, what a beautiful area! Excellent roads, jaw dropping views and great nature. It's a holiday, so a little rest after lunch is well deserved.
After many winding roads we get on top of the Tre Cime pass: with 2500mtr the highest pass of the tour.
A happy group of bikers, they've been riding very well!
Down there, in the valley, is where we came from
Cortina is a very nice and lovely city in the Dolomites.
It offers a variety of small shops and very nice ice cream.
And the weather...

Riding day 6: From Cortina to Seefeld! Dolomites, all day long.

Tom walking into a screen saver.
Diane with some instructions for the perfect picture.
Passo Falzarego - the first of a total of 7!! passes today.
A group of happy bikers in the Dolomites.
Our bikes - a whole week in the alps and they look like nothing happened. Just a little warm.
