Everyone has arrived and fortunately for us everyone also has their luggage!! The bikes have also arrived, have been unloaded and are safely tucked up in the garage for the night. This is a good thing as the weather has turned and it has been raining. But everyone is full of expectations and is keeping their finger crossed for better weather in the morning!

¡Todos han llegado y afortunatamente para nosotros todos también tienen su equipaje! Las motos también han llegado, se han descargado y están metidas de forma segura en el garaje para pasar la noche. Esto es algo bueno ya que el clima ha cambiado y ha estado lloviendo. ¡Pero todos están llenos de expectativas y cruzan los dedos para tener un mejor clima en la mañana!

Its a great start to the day as the weather has cleared up overnight amd the sun has started to shine. We make out way through the bavarian countryside but the are greeted by hordes of Bavarian police at the Sylvensteinsee. The G7 conference is nearby and the borders to Austria are closed!!! We make a detour via the Achensee and eventually make our way up to Kuhtai, down into the Oetz valley then onward to our destination Hochgurgl

Es un gran comienzo para el día ya que el clima se ha aclarado durante la noche y el sol ha comenzado a brillar. Nos abrimos camino a través de la campiña bávara, pero somos recibidos por hordas de policías bávaros en Sylvensteinsee. ¡La conferencia del G7 está cerca y las fronteras con Austria están cerradas! Hacemos un desvío a través de Achensee y finalmente nos dirigimos a Kuhtai, bajamos al valle de Oetz y luego seguimos hacia nuestro destino Hochgurgl.

The cowbells are ringing and shake us out of our sleep early in the morning. It's another beautiful day in the alps and everyone is ready to go. First stop is Timmelsjoch, a mere 10 minutes up the road. It's fresh this morning but nobody feels it, there just too much adrenaline pumping through our bodies. Down the other side we race into Sud Tirol and stop for a coffee at the original home of Innkeeper and Drover Andreas Hofer, a revered resistance fighter and local hero. Then its on to Bolzano and into the Dolomites. As always it's just jaw droppingly beautiful. A quick stop at Rifugio Dolomia for lunch then onwards towards Cortina. Another quick stop for coffee at Lago Misurina and then we continue onwards and upwards until we eventually roll into the Hotel at Hochlienz. It's late in the day but nobody cares beacuase it's just been such an awesome day.

Los cencerros suenan y nos sacan de nuestro sueño temprano en la mañana. Es otro hermoso día en los Alpes y todos están listos para partir. La primera parada es Timmelsjoch, a solo 10 minutos por la carretera. Está fresco esta mañana pero nadie lo siente, hay demasiada adrenalina bombeando a través de nuestros cuerpos. Por el otro lado corremos hacia Sud Tirol y nos detenemos para tomar un café en la casa original del tabernero y ganadero Andreas Hofer, un venerado luchador de la resistencia y héroe local. Luego sigue hacia Bolzano y hacia los Dolomitas. Como siempre, es asombrosamente hermoso. Una parada rápida en Rifugio Dolomia para almorzar y luego hacia Cortina. Otra parada rápida para tomar un café en el Lago Misurina y luego continuamos hacia adelante y hacia arriba hasta que finalmente llegamos al Hotel en Hochlienz. Es tarde pero a nadie le importa porque ha sido un día increíble.

We are high above Lienz and it's another glorious start to the day. We take our breakfast with great views over the valley. We head out from the hotel and down into the valley, dodging tractors on their way up to work in the fields. A short ride takes us the the toll booth for the Grossglockner pass and thats where the fun starts. There's almost no traffic around and we ride up to the Edelweissspitz virtually uninerrupted. And wow! What a view we have from up here!! After photos and coffee we head out again and make our way past Zell am See, and on towards Lofer, where we make a superfast stop for lunch. Everybody wants to get to Salzburg early enough to take a walk around. A short ride via Berchtesgaden takes us into Salzburg but with some nice curves in between. Everyone takes a quick shower and heads into Salzburg to enjoy the sights and the historical ambience!

Estamos muy por encima de Lienz y es otro comienzo glorioso del día. Tomamos nuestro desayuno con excelentes vistas sobre el valle. Salimos del hotel y bajamos al valle, esquivando tractores en su camino hacia el trabajo en los campos. Un corto viaje nos lleva a la cabina de peaje del pase Grossglockner y ahí es donde comienza la diversión. Casi no hay tráfico alrededor y subimos al Edelweissspitz prácticamente sin interrupciones. ¡Y guau! ¡¡Qué vista tenemos desde aquí arriba!! Después de las fotos y el café, salimos de nuevo y pasamos por Zell am See, y seguimos hacia Lofer, donde hacemos una parada súper rápida para almorzar. Todo el mundo quiere llegar a Salzburgo lo suficientemente temprano para dar un paseo. Un viaje corto a través de Berchtesgaden nos lleva a Salzburgo pero con algunas bonitas curvas en el medio. Todos toman una ducha rápida y se dirigen a Salzburgo para disfrutar de las vistas y el ambiente histórico.

Last night there was thunder and lightning and a quick storm. This morning the weather is looking iffy, but as we head out of Salzburg things start to brighten up. We ride to Mattighofen, home of KTM, but the main exibition is closed, so we make do with a quick browse around the shop and a trip to the workshop. This company has some real race history!!!!! Afterwards it's onwards to Passau and we stop at a cafe next to the river Danube for lunch. The sun has come out now and it's another great day for riding After lunch we head towards Czechia and make a quick photo stop at the border. The roads here are nice and curvy and there's not much traffic to hold us up. We are heading to Cesky Krumlov. I never tire of visiting this town, it's just so beautiful and historical, as everyone is about to find out.

Anoche hubo truenos y relámpagos y una tormenta rápida. Esta mañana el clima parece dudoso, pero a medida que salimos de Salzburgo, las cosas comienzan a mejorar. Nos dirigimos a Mattighofen, hogar de KTM, pero la exposición principal está cerrada, por lo que nos conformamos con una rápida ojeada por la tienda y un viaje al taller. ¡Esta compañía tiene una verdadera historia de carreras! Luego seguimos hacia Passau y nos detenemos en un café al lado del río Danube para almorzar. Ha salido el sol y es otro gran día para montar a caballo Después del almuerzo nos dirigimos hacia Chequia y hacemos una parada rápida para tomar fotos en la frontera. Las carreteras aquí son agradables y sinuosas y no hay mucho tráfico que nos detenga. Nos dirigimos a Cesky Krumlov. Nunca me canso de visitar este pueblo, es tan hermoso e histórico, como el grupo está a punto de descubrir.

There was a big thunderstorm last night and today is not looking so good. As we are having breakfast it starts to rain again so the group decides to head directly to Prague and make a quick stop in Tabor if the rain stops. There is a lot of traffic around Cesky Budejovice but we eventually make it to the highway and start heading away from the rain. It eventually stops so we stop off in Tabor for a quick walk around and coffee. What a pretty little place this is. As we drink coffee it starts to rain again and eventually we head off for Prague. We are met with more traffic as we enter Prague but we eventually arrive at our hotel. Everybody heads to their rooms to shower and hen head into downtown Prague to have a stroll around this beautiful old city.

Anoche hubo una gran tormenta y hoy no se ve muy bien. Mientras desayunamos, empieza a llover de nuevo, así que el grupo decide dirigirse directamente a Praga y hacer una parada rápida en Tabor si deja de llover. Hay mucho tráfico alrededor de Cesky Budejovice, pero finalmente llegamos a la autopista y comenzamos a alejarnos de la lluvia. Eventualmente se detiene, así que nos detenemos en Tabor para dar un paseo rápido y tomar un café. Qué lugar tan bonito es este. Mientras tomamos café, comienza a llover nuevamente y finalmente nos dirigimos a Praga. Nos encontramos con más tráfico cuando entramos en Praga, pero finalmente llegamos a nuestro hotel. Todo el mundo se dirige a sus habitaciones para ducharse y luego se dirige al centro de Praga para dar un paseo por esta hermosa ciudad antigua.

We wake up to another not so good looking day. We head out from Prague with some very light rain in the hope that it will improve - but it doesn't. We stop to put on rain gear and continue. We arrive in Melnik and some of the group are brave enough to tackle the stairs to the top of the Church Spire to look out over the town and the surrounding countryside. We go to the Winery next door but of course we can only have coffee and not taste any of the local wines unfortunately. We continue onwards but are hampered in our efforts by a closed main road. After detouring we eventually reach Dolni Chribska and stop to look at the original wooden houses that are present in this area known as the Switzerland of Bohemia. They really are very pretty! By now the weather has cleared up, the sun is shining and it has started to get hot!! We eventually stop for a quick snack once we cross the border back into Germany at Bad Schandau. From here we contiue to the Bastei lookout point that sits on top of these sandstone cliffs. The view from up top is amazing and it's hard to believe that once upon a time there was a castle up here! After that it's just a short hop to Dresden and our Hotel for the night.

Nos despertamos con otro día no tan bueno. Salimos de Praga con una lluvia muy ligera con la esperanza de que mejore, pero no es así. Nos detenemos para ponernos la ropa de lluvia y continuamos. Llegamos a Melnik y algunos miembros del grupo son lo suficientemente valientes como para subir las escaleras hasta la cima de Church Spire para contemplar la ciudad y el campo circundante. Vamos a la bodega de al lado pero, por supuesto, solo podemos tomar un café y lamentablemente no probar ninguno de los vinos locales. Seguimos adelante, pero nuestros esfuerzos se ven obstaculizados por una carretera principal cerrada. Después de desviarnos, finalmente llegamos a Dolni Chribska y nos detenemos para observar las casas de madera originales que se encuentran en esta zona conocida como la Suiza de Bohemia. ¡Son realmente muy bonitos! A estas alturas el tiempo se ha aclarado, el sol brilla y ha empezado a hacer calor!! Finalmente, nos detenemos para tomar un refrigerio rápido una vez que cruzamos la frontera de regreso a Alemania en Bad Schandau. Desde aquí continuamos hasta el mirador de Bastei que se asienta sobre estos acantilados de arenisca. ¡La vista desde arriba es increíble y es difícil creer que hubo una vez un castillo aquí arriba! Después de eso, es solo un pequeño salto a Dresden y nuestro hotel para pasar la noche.

Today is our last riding day, but the weather is still good. We head out of Dresden via the main roads until we can turn off into the countryside. It's much flatter around here and the roads are straighter, but there's quite a bit of traffic. We make a coffee and sightseeing stop at the Krabat Muhle in Schwarzkollm. Its very pretty here and they are getting everything ready for a festival that will be held in the near future. Afterwards we head on towards out lunch stop, taking some autobahn along the way. We need to arrive early in Berlin as theres already events planned for late afternoon.We stop for lunch at a Biergarten by the river in Lubbenau. This area is famous for its gherkins and some of the group try the sausages with gherkin in the middle. They are delicious apparently!. After lunch we hit the autobahn so we can arrive into Berlin in time for the evenings events. It's bee a pretty long day again but now we have some time to relax

Hoy es nuestro último día de conducción, pero el tiempo sigue siendo bueno. Salimos de Dresde por las carreteras principales hasta que podamos desviarnos hacia el campo. Es mucho más llano por aquí y las carreteras son más rectas, pero hay bastante tráfico. Hacemos una parada para tomar un café y hacer turismo en el Krabat Muhle en Schwarzkollm. Es muy bonito aquí y están preparando todo para un festival que se llevará a cabo en un futuro próximo. Luego nos dirigimos hacia nuestra parada para almorzar, tomando algunas autopistas en el camino. Tenemos que llegar temprano a Berlín porque ya hay eventos planeados para la tarde. Nos detenemos para almorzar en un Biergarten junto al río en Lubbenau. Esta zona es famosa por sus pepinillos y algunos del grupo prueban las salchichas con pepinillo en el medio. ¡Son deliciosos al parecer!. Después del almuerzo salimos a la autopista para poder llegar a Berlín a tiempo para los eventos de la noche. Ha vuelto a ser un día bastante largo, pero ahora tenemos algo de tiempo para relajarnos

Today there's no rush to get up and out on the road. After a good breakfast we board the bus for a guided tour around the city. This doesnt turn out to work quite as expected as it seems there's some kind of marathon race on and may of the roads are closed. We stop for lunch near to the Messe and then afterwards make our way inside to look around. It's been a great week and everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves. I have managed to get some Spanish practice in too Hope to see you all again on another tour sometime.........

Hoy no hay prisa por levantarse y salir a la carretera. Después de un buen desayuno abordamos el autobús para realizar una visita guiada por la ciudad. Esto no resulta funcionar como se esperaba, ya que parece que hay una especie de carrera de maratón y muchas de las carreteras están cerradas. Nos detenemos para almorzar cerca del Messe y luego entramos para mirar alrededor. Ha sido una gran semana y todos parecen haber disfrutado. También he logrado practicar algo de español Espero verlos a todos nuevamente en otra gira en algún momento .........
