Samstag, 2. Juli 2022 | Markus Hellrigl / Felix Gregor Huber | Europa

ARRIVAL

Something new at Edelweiss - the HAWKS - a Global Motorcycle Club came to explore the Alps. Members from HAWKS Egypt, HAWKS Kuwait, HAWKS Riyadh, HAWKS Dubai, HAWKS Lebanon and EGYRiders. At the starting base Neuwirt in Mieming they recieved not only their motorcycles but also a lot of information from Markus and Felix.

Riding day 1: MIEMING to KALS

Due to the G7 Summit near Mittenwald with its intense and timeconsuming border checks we changed the route and followed the river Inn-valley all the way to Hall in Tirol, where Markus guided us through his hometown. Turning into the Zillertal after Jenbach we hit the first passroad to climb Gerlospass as a warm-up for Großglockner. Astonning fews in an outstanding landscape!

Riding day 2: KALS to BOLZANO

Leaving from Kals we headed for Staller Sattel, a single lane road, regulated by traffic lights. On top of Passo di Falzarego we entered the cable car to get to the top of the mountain. Astonning views, spectacular scenery!

Riding day 3: BOLZANO to RIVA

Starting out in Bolzane we headed back into the Dolomites, but this time we visited the more Southern part. Passo Lavazze, Val di Cembra, Trento and Monte Bondone challenged us not only roadwise, we also got to experience some rain and wet roads. But nevertheless it was a great day again, full of things to see!

Riding day 4: RIVA to LIVIGNO

We got a start almost on time and went to see the lake before we head off into the mountains again. Lush and green everywhere you look! Collecting some more passes as there are: Campo Carlo Magno, Passo Tonale, the very challanging Passo Gavia and finally the queen of all passes, Passo Stelvio!

It was the most challenging day!

Riding day 5: LIVIGNO to MIEMIMNG

Sad to get reminded that this is our last riding day, but what can you do? We crossed the border into Switzerland at Bernina Pass and were rolling down into the Engadin Valley. After coffee break we collected pass #3 for today, riding through Stelvio National Park and across Ofenpass. Back in Italy a good lunch was awaiting us in Glurns, the smallest town in Italy, fully surrounded by a wall. Shortly before the Austrian borderwe stopped at the churchsteeple at Lago Resia. The viewpoint at Gacher Blick showed us once more the bauty of the Alps. A last coffee stop helped to avoid getting wet, because ba the time we reached the Edelweiss Garage the thunder storm has already rushed through.
