Born and raised in Rothenburg ob der Tauber in central Franconia, Holger has always been fascinated by travel and anything with wheels and an engine. Over time, driving cars and riding motorcycles became his passion, leading him on various road trips to almost every corner of Europe and the world. Eventually, he noticed that his job no longer allowed enough space for this passion and a change was needed. After nearly 20 years as a senior engineer in environmental protection and occupational safety for an international gas engine manufacturer in Tyrol, it was time to leave the office, turn the hobby into a profession, and join the Edelweiss team.

Axel was born in Southern Germany in 1965. He studied geography in Aachen (a beautiful town at the fringe of a motorcyclists paradise: the Eifel and Ardennes region) and ended up in Darmstadt where he currently lives with his family and enjoys the fact that the Odenwald Forest with its winding roads just begins outside the city limits. A five-year stopover in Melbourne, Australia, showed him that it is possibe to have fun riding a bike on the left side of the road and upside down. Axel has been exploring the world on the back of a motorbike since 1988 and since 2012 he is leading Edelweiss customers around the world as he found out that this is the perfect way to mix business with pleasure.

Marko was born in Hannover, northern Germany, in 1964, but being a motorcycling and skiing aficionado he had to move closer to the mountains very soon. South-western Bavaria has been the home of his choice for more than 30 years now. Marko joined Edelweiss in 2003 as a dedicated Harley-Davidson tour guide, but his interests diversified considerably since then. Life as a tour guide is never boring for him since it combines motorcycling, traveling and dealing with very interesting people.

Angela was born and grew up in the Allgäu, the very southern and, as she thinks, the most beautiful part of Germany. Since the mountains predominantly shape the landscape in this area, you better learn to live with the fact that you somehow have to get up and down the mountains anyways. Be it on skies, on sled, on tires, by bicycle, by funicular or on foot – you name it, Angela did it! For Angela, however, the most fascinating way to get up and down a mountain is by riding a motorcycle. To elegantly master her bike through those curvy mountain roads… this is when Angela starts getting really focused. By the time she had gone up and down almost all of these mountains, Angela thought about discovering the other countries in Europe. When she visited the city of Genoa/Italy she found out about the ferry boats that would take her and her motorcycle to even further away destinations. Consequently, she travelled the Northern African countries and later Turkey and the Middle East. Angela came to like especially the last two areas. But this is not the end of the story! A few years later Angela discovered Edelweiss and very soon figured out that Edelweiss would be the best cure for her need to travel the world! Not only does Angela love to ride a motorcycle, she also likes to get things going, she is fond of languages and of learning about other cultures, and she likes to get to know people from around the globe. These are only a few of the reasons why Edelweiss decided to hire her as a tour guide in 2010! Well, if you want to know more, you better go on tour with her and find out yourself ...

My favorite bike: My bruised and battered R 1200 GS for the faithful travel companion it is. But also my old GPZ 900 R for making me feel like Tom Cruise (only taller). And a Ducati GT 1000, for its sheer beauty and that true Italian character.
Wim is a fortysomething Belgian living in Meise, right outside Brussels, in the flat green countryside where cows are the most spectacular wildlife around. He works in PR for a car company, hence his love for old-timers and six-cylinder engines. Whenever he’s not on a bike or in a car he goes out on extended walks with Bo, the sweetest Golden Retriever in the world. Wim started guiding tours for Edelweiss in 2014.

Björn – pronounce the ö like the u in urban – was born in Mainz, an ancient city on the banks of the Rhine. It didn't take him long to figure out that he was interested in all kinds of vehicles, and so he got his motorcycle license at the age of 18 and bought his first bike two weeks later. He started out on a Suzuki SV650 S and it did not take long until he took the bike on a first tour through the Black Forest. This tour must have impressed him so much that he moved to the northern part of Black Forest just after he finished his academic studies in Darmstadt, to have the Black Forest high road at his doorstep. Today he works in the automotive industry in Karlsruhe and as he figured how important it is to have some time away from the office every now and then, he applied at Edelweiss. Here it became apparent that more than a dozen busy years of riding under his belt made him a very safe and seasoned rider. Guiding comes naturally to him and no problem or situation can get him out of his comfort zone. And you can rest
Tours I will be leading: Tours in parts of north, east, south and central Europe. And probably more to come.

Favorite destination: South America, because of its interesting culture, friendly people and fantastic landscape! And Bulgaria.
What I like: Travelling and motorbiking on- and off-road, open-minded people, being in an international environment, summer, the mountains, nature and seaside, organizing things, old cars with simple technique and good food

My favorite bike: Yamaha TT 600 R and Honda Africa Twin
The city of Ulm, situated in the deep south of Germany, is not only home to the World’s tallest church spire, but also to Andreas, who was born here in 1968. Apart from learning and speaking foreign languages – especially Spanish – he obviously loves to ride motorcycles. He has more than 200,000 miles under his belt, and the ones he covered on his trip around the Black Sea in 2003 count among his favorite ones. Andreas is an active and very able off-road racer; he won the German 3-hour Enduro Championship three times! From 2013 on, now working for Edelweiss, he will cover considerably more miles on- than off-road.

For over 20 years, he has been planning, organizing, and leading motorcycle tours with his best friends all over Europe - and becoming a tour guide for Edelweiss was a dream come true. Despite the fact that Tom was born and raised in Luxemburg he did not, at any point in his life, want to become a banker. Instead he wanted to ride motorcycles, the more the better, and with his father being a professional riding instructor Tom was able to get off to a good start. He began riding in 1998 and the Alps, spreading out not far south of his doorstep, provided the perfect training ground. To finance his passion Tom became a bus driver, a stressful job even in Luxemburg, so he joined Edelweiss in 2015, hoping to find some relief from daily stress situations. Keep hoping, Tom!

For him, the perfect end to a great day on the bike is sitting around the campfire under a star-filled sky, playing and singing and having a good time. Michael was born in 1961 in Würzburg, a small town in northern Bavaria. He worked as an architect for many years, then decided to follow his dreams and joined Edelweiss in 2005. Since then, he has covered well over a million tour-kilometers on two wheels.

Like every true Dutchman Ted loves boats. In fact he loved boats so much that he joined the Dutch Navy and lived, for many years, on boats of all sizes, all over the world. For a while he settled down in Florida, for another while in the Caribbean, and for a third while in Portugal, but now, as a retired “Navy guy”, he moved back to Holland, where he lives with his wife. His three grown-up kids also live in Holland. Ted was born in ’62 and joined Edelweiss in ’14, so he calls himself “the oldest rookie” among the tour guides. But don’t worry, Ted: as retiree with plenty of time on your hands you won’t be a rookie very long ...

Tyroleans are usually born with skis already attached to their feet. Markus had them too, but also the fingers of his right hand were bent in an unusual way and he discovered later that they would fit perfectly around the throttle grip of a motorcycle… Markus was born in 1956 in the ancient town of Hall in Tirol, where he still lives today. For many years he didn’t really know what to do with himself, he led a restless life, joined two UNO missions to the Golan Heights, studied sports and geography, and he travelled. And man, did he travel! There is not enough space on this web site to name all the countries he visited, but he especially loves Greece and Norway, Chile and South Africa, the US and the Middle East. Once it took him seven weeks to ride from Innsbruck to the North Cape and back and this trip still stands out as his personal number one.
In 1993 Markus found a way to put the fingers of his right hand to work: he guided his first Edelweiss motorcycle tour and he loved it so much that he hasn’t stopped guiding ever since. It was only in 2012, after 19 ½ years on the road, that he traded the bike seat for an office chair, and his colleagues suspect that he just couldn’t stand the thought of Edelweiss celebrating him for 20 years of service. It would just make him feel sooo old… But with age comes experience, and if there ever was a full-blooded tour guide, Markus would be it. Hundreds of tours, thousands of happy customers, more than a million kilometres on two, four and eight wheels and countless outstanding picnics are firmly tucked under his belt. Somebody once called him a true professional, and that is certainly true. Markus is married with two kids and besides motorcycling and chatting on the phone with his tour guides he loves mountain biking, skiing, and music, and of course he loves spending time with his family. In 2022, Markus moved into his well-deserved retirement... - Retirement...? - No way! Markus will continue to be with us as a tour guide!
Tours that I lead: Iberian Peninsula, Alps, Italy, and hopefully soon in South America, Africa, and the rest of the world.
Why people like to ride with me: To judge that, you have to come on tour with me at least once. - Let's have a lot of fun!
Favorite destinations: Mostly where I'm currently traveling. It always depends on what you make of it. Just open all your senses and enjoy.
What I like: Finding new challenges, meeting people, and gaining new experiences. And when Tour participants/friends have a big, happy grin on their faces when they arrive after a great riding day.
What I don't like: Highways, city traffic, traffic jams, and straights that are longer than a small car.
Hobbies: Family, traveling, motorcycling, enjoying nature and the search for wisdom
My favorite motorcycle: My own R1200 GS (2010), the travel companion through thick and thin and without many frills, as well as a Suzuki DR-Z 400 S (one of the last for Europe) for the rough stuff.
Bernhard was born in the Allgäu in 1969, before the first moon landing and Woodstock. As one of our tour guides with a military background, he left his home for Spain at the age of 30. With his broad dialect and relaxed manner, you can quickly identify Christian as a true Viennese. However, one branch of his family comes from the neighboring country to the north, so he likes to spend time there and speak Czech so as not to get out of practice.
At home in Vienna, Christian works as a professional firefighter. An interesting and strenuous job, which he has been supplementing since 2023 with his work as a tour guide at Edelweiss, which is also interesting and often exhausting. Both jobs produce a steady stream of exciting stories and Christian enjoys telling them, spiced up with a little Viennese humor.

He went with his motorbike from Munich through the Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, South-East Asia and via Indonesia to down under, Australia. An additional 9 months he spent with his motorbike in South America exploring some of the most remote places on this earth. In 2015 he started at Edelweiss with a scouting in China and on the world tour from Tallinn to Bangkok. Since then…but this he should tell you in person! :)

Since his early childhood, Felix has been addicted to motorcycles. It is said that he couldn't fall asleep at night without the Italjet Children's Motocross catalog under his pillow. He gained his first motorcycle travel experiences at Easter in 1981 on a duo trip from Salzburg to Florence, then on to Siena and back - all on a tuned Vespa. An unforgettable journey for him. Afterwards, countless other tours, races, hill climbs, and rallies throughout Europe followed. Following the motto "Straight is the line of duty - curvy is the line of beauty!" Felix loves winding roads. And, above all, he enjoys passing on his enthusiasm for motorcycle trips, landscapes, enjoyment, culinary delights, music, art, history, and stories to his tour guests with a lot of fun and joy.

Franziska grew up in Hesse, Germany, but stayed only until the travel bug bit her. Her first backpacking trip took her to South America, from where love led her to Australia on detours. There, she discovered her passion for motorcycling. And - as she says - she considers herself lucky to have traveled all continents by motorcycle except Africa. She has since relocated to England, where she is currently making a "pit stop." Edelweiss is simply the logical consequence of everything; here she can combine her passions for traveling and motorcycling. Welcome aboard, Franziska!

Julian hails from the Westerwald region of Germany, where he started riding his Yamaha PW50 on forest roads at the tender age of 8. As a passionate technician, he followed his gut feeling, learned to be a mechanic, and then studied mechanical engineering. In his mid-20s, he moved his base of operations to the beautiful Allgäu region to be closer to the Alps. The time between his travels and motorcycle tours he fills with marketing and sales activities, because one must make a living and the travels need financing, too. His list already includes 35 countries he has visited, and it is set to grow even longer.

Rubin's permanent residence is in Slovakia, where he currently lives, creates and from where he starts his travels around the world. Rubin is a painter. As he says: His colors is the light, his paint brush is his camera and his canvas is roll a film or digital sensor. According to him, the light is the best magician, because he can just stand aloof and at the right moment, he stops the time and captures the breathtaking beauty forever. Because we take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.
Apart from photography, Rubin also loves traveling and sharing views, cultures, tastes, smells and simply the beauty of the world not only through photos and videos, but above all through the experiences he can offer his fellow travelers. He inherited his love of traveling from his parents, especially from his mom. Since high school, he has been organizing various trips for friends, and he is not done yet!
...as they say: "The most beautiful view of the world is from the back of a horse." And if you ask Rubin: Why should we have one horsepower under our feet when we can have dozens of them? Let's ride!

Peter was born in Vienna, raised in Bad Ischl, then moved back to Vienna for school and work, he lives in St. Pölten today, working for a concrete factory. He loves skiing, so he spends most of his winters in the Enns valley. Since he also loves motorcycles (two of his uncles were active racers and introduced him early to the pleasure of riding motorized two-wheelers) he spends his summers in... well, in St. Pölten, because he’s got to work. Born and raised in the bowels of the beautiful Loreley at the Middle Rhine in Germany, Jochen sat on a motorcycle with his father for the first time at the age of three. From then on, he was hooked, and his passion for motorcycling was born. According to him, Edelweiss connects his interest in engaging with interesting people, motorcycle touring, and his curiosity for foreign countries and cultures. Sounds like a perfect match!
Tours I will be leading: Balkans, Greece, Spain, Portugal, France. No matter where, the most important things are little traffic and plenty of curves. But I prefer being on the road in the Alps the most. I know my way around there very well.
Reason why people enjoy being on tour with me: Because I am an uncomplicated person. On tours, I ensure that guests feel good and safe, and of course, there's a lot of fun involved too. Only when at the end of the day everyone has a big smile on their face, am I satisfied.

Daniel grew up in beautiful Tyrol, but moved to the other end of Austria, Vienna, after his law studies. After 10 years in the legal and real-estate industry he came to realise that sitting in an office day by day just isn't the real deal for him. Quite a few female tour guides are working for Edelweiss these days, but when Ursula started guiding groups back in 2004 she was the only one. She doesn’t want us to know how old she is, which is ok since she happily gives away plenty of other information: born, raised and still living in south-western Bavaria, in a lovely region known as the Allgäu, pronounced Ull-goy. For Ursula this is the most beautiful spot our planet has to offer, but she still loves to go out and see other places, most notably Italy. She loves to ride big bikes but secretly adores the Vespa 300. She’s a lot of fun to be on tour with, so make sure you give it a try. And if you ask her how she and Edelweiss got together all she’ll tell you is: it was just inevitable ...
Tours I will be leading: Anywhere in the world!
Reason why people enjoy being on tour with me: You better like what you have to do anyway and often people loose their free will after the first contact already. That's how it is if you get caught by a drug dealer. My mission is to get you addicted. Warning: Success rate - high!
Favorite destination: New Zealand - Roosting or leaned over all the way through paradise - how much better can it get?
What I like: Curves - round, tight, anytime, anywhere!
What I dislike: Anything that hinders momentum sucks!
Hobbies: Reading, running, moto-X, skiing, snowboarding - things that allow my mind and body to take a flight!
My favorite bike: BMW R 1200 GS - constant fun factor - from the Autobahn of Munich to the dunes of Pismo Beach!
Despite the fact that many people, especially those from English speaking countries, frequently mispronounce his last name, Christian consistently delivers a top tour-guiding performance. He has worked for Edelweiss for many, many, many years, for so long actually that hardly anybody remembers the time before. During these years he travelled to every country you can possibly think of, riding his motorcycle through scorching deserts, across snow-covered mountain passes, through dripping wet rainforests and in and out of heavily congested cities, and he always manages to convince his faithfully following group that this is the best fun they ever had. Christian was born in Austria in 1956 and he still lives there, in the hills outside Linz, in an old farmhouse that he lovingly restored. He used to be a professional motocross racer, then guided trekking- and adventure tours in the US for years before joining the Edelweiss team in 1994. If you asked him why he still loves guiding tours for Edelweiss, this would be his answer: “Where else could I find a job where I constantly get to meet new friends while being sent out to the most exotic locations of the planet in order to attack those wicked, cool, twisting roads on the newest, best-performing motorcycles? And then they force me to have a beer!”
Tours I will be leading: All the tours I can get.
Reason why people enjoy being on tour with me: Because I drive so slowly, there's no chance you can't keep up with me.

Tours I will be leading: At the moment, I am mostly riding in the Alps, but that can change quickly - and then I will ride everywhere.

Thomas was born at the beautiful Saar and is still living in the tri-border region of Germany, Luxembourg, and France. For a long time, he was employed in the development department of a major automotive supplier. Besides his job, Thomas also played football for a long time (first as a player, later as a coach). When he could no longer pursue this hobby, he stumbled upon exciting motorcycle tours through Edelweiss. "So why not turn a hobby into a profession?" he thought. Well, and today, he is here with us. What a fortunate coincidence!

Born and raised in Naples and therefore a real Italian, Domenico had no choice. After spending his childhood years riding around on bicycles he acquired a motorized two-wheeler as soon as he was old enough, and the vehicle he got was – of course – a Vespa. Domenico studied economics and after his graduation, he went to work in the tourism industry, because he wanted to see the world while working. After several years of experience in hotels, holiday resorts, travel agencies, and cruise ships, he decided that time had come to combine his past professional experiences with his passion for motorcycles, so he applied with Edelweiss. We were happy to take him on, and since 2013 Domenico is an Edelweiss tour guide.
Tours I lead:
Naturally, my preferred tours wind through the majestic Alps, but I also enjoy exploring southern regions. Especially during transitional seasons, tours through Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco are among my favorites.
Why you'd enjoy riding with me:
I haven't figured that out yet, but I'll keep you posted.
Favorite destinations:
My heart beats for places where the sun regularly shines and the roads are perfect for motorcyclists. The opportunity to experience endless combinations of curves with breathtaking mountain and valley tours fascinates me. My personal highlight is the Stelvio Pass, preferably at sunrise when tourists and cyclists are still in bed.
Hobbies:
My enjoyment extends to anything involving motorized two-wheelers, be it rally raid, electric track racing, off-road adventures, or e-mountain biking. When I'm not on a motorcycle or in an airplane, I also enjoy water sports: diving, surfing, sunbathing.
Favorite motorcycle:
Alongside my electric Superbike Energica Ego, I particularly value my KTM Super Adventure R as the ultimate adventure and rally bike.
Gregor was born in the idyllic Allgäu (Memmingen), but unfortunately, he had to leave the pre-Alpine region in the north early with his parents. After detours through Nuremberg, Frankfurt, and Hamburg, he eventually landed in the beautiful Oldenburg in Lower Saxony. His passion for motorized two-wheelers began at the tender age of 12 with a career in motocross and trial sports. During his engineering studies, his love for powerful means of transportation led him to become a pilot, where he took control of an impressive 40,000 horsepower Boeing 737 (yes, I know, you can't actually convert thrust into horsepower, but it sounds cool). The deep-rooted passion for exploring the world on two wheels ultimately never replaced the view from above. On around a dozen motorcycles of almost all types, he has covered several virtual circumnavigations of the Earth since the age of 16, competing with those in an airplane for almost 30 years.
As a tour guide at Edelweiss Bike Travel since 2022, he leads regular motorcycle and bicycle tours of all kinds.

Michael was born and raised in Munich. His Tyrolian roots however, which he got from his Mum and Dad, lead him to Tyrol 6 years ago. Since then, he has been commuting between the Bavarian capital city and St. Ulrich am Pillersee. At the presentation of the new Energica Experia (e-motorcycle) in the Dolomites Michael got into a conversation with an Edelweiss tourguide. Michael got so excited by all the stories that he immediately applied as a tour guide at Edelweiss. What could be more beautiful than turning your hobby into your calling?

Claudia is a real Bavarian girl, born, raised and still at home in Munich. She completed an apprenticeship in hotel management, worked in the field for years, studied tourism and event management and worked in that field again for years. Right now she has a regular office job, something that doesn’t quite fulfill her, so when she went on the Edelweiss Moscow to Bangkok tour as a customer in 2014 and witnessed the exciting and diverse lives of her tour guides, she instinctively knew what to do… Now she lives according to her motto: you can’t add more years to your life, but you can add more life to your years.

He moved to Munich in 2000 to improve his work/life balance and has been there ever since, apart from a 2 year hiatus in Costa Rica. Lars was born in the Netherlands, but he has already lived in six different countries and has traveled extensively as a former surfing, kiteboarding, and skiing instructor. For the past four years, Lars has been living in Vienna and he often goes on motorcycle trips from there. The native Dutchman had his first motorcycle at the age of three. Since then, he says, his love for motorcycle riding has only grown. His goals? To see as much of the world as possible on a motorcycle. That's why he's a perfect fit as a tour guide at Edelweiss. And otherwise, maybe participate in a rally here and there.
