In more than 30 years of  Edelweiss tours worldwide there are not many countries we have never been to on a bike. However, we are still in search for new countries with new routes and experiences to share with Edelweissers from all over.

Ethiopia is a country with one of the most beautiful landscapes and cultures on this planet. Therefore I decided to go there and see, if this should be an Edelweiss tour in the future.

After a more than 10 hour flight I arrived in Addis Abeba, capital of Ethiopia and starting point of this trip. Very much appreciated was the beautiful relaxing residence where I will stay during this tour.

On the first day I was shuttled to the house of Carlo, a nice Italian guy who offered me to ride his KTM 640 during my trip.

Since Ethiopian people are very religious the were fasting the last couple of weeks and were not eating any meat. For that reason the streets were filled with sheep today which all will be killed soon since the fasting period is soon over.

Most of the time today was spent for exploring the city and it was truly memorable!
