Day 4 Edelweiss Movie Tour SPT13121

Monday, June 24, 2013 | Marko Bauer | Europe

Hollywood watch out! Edelweiss is doing a movie about a motorcycle tour! But it is not just another tour: it is a tour with special participants to special destinations! Today we were in Seefeld, Austria, and did a loop to Germany:

First stop was the Walchensee, high up in the German Alps:

Next we visited Bavarian King Ludwig II., in his favourite palace, Linderhof!

Then we tackled the first of many more mountain passes - the Hahntennjoch.

And finally we stopped at the Edelweiss headquarter in Mieming, Tyrol!

Tomorrow, our motorcycle movie tour will turn south, towards sunshine - and Lake Garda!

Day 2:

Today it was time to cross the Alps from north to south! The film crew was ready:

We left the bad weather behind and headed for the sunshine - which we found as soon as we crossed the Italian border!

After descending from the Penserjoch we continued to Bozen. Here the next highlight waited: the Mendelpass. The road was made for motorcyclists and the views from the top are spectacular!

Day 3:

Now we have reached Lake Garda - beautiful enough to stay here for an extra day!

Lake Garda and sunshine - what could be better for a rest day! A few actually rested, but the rest took off to explore the mountains west of Lake Garda:

The only thing that (almost) topped the riding was Markus' picnic lunch!

And finally, just before we returned to the lake, we stopped for a little refreshment at a hidden waterfall.

Day 4:

For the tourguides the day started a little earlier than usual - but the light at sunrise promised some great scenes for the Edelweiss Movie.

After leaving Lake Garda, the roads became smaller and smaller - and twistier and twistier! The ride up to Monte Bondone was certainly one of the highlights of this tour.

Lunch in Val di Cembra brought back enough energy for the next highlight: the Dolomites!

Hi Ursula,
No, I was on an RT - maybe someone in the office wanted to test me on the wet, slippery hairpins or something? But, I guess it was nice to have a warm bottom on the Timmelsjoch
