Sunday, April 16, 2017 | Ted Goslinga / Angela | Europe

final day - Ronda - Malaga

And suddenly there is the last day! What an amazing weather did we have this week, and for sure this last riding day is again under a blue sky. Today s route is from Ronda down the Mediteranean coast and then in a loop back towards Ronda where we had our secon and last picnic, this time prepared by tourguide Ted. On a nice shady spot we enjoyed the lunch time. After this tourguide Angela took about half of the group down the mountain area s back to Malga. The entiregroup was again divided in three parts and used their freedom to ride for sure!

After the bootbeer and the motorcycle handover there was just one event left: the farewell dinner. Back in our comfortable hotel in Malaga everyone enjoyed this last meal. After dinner we got outside where it was still nice and warm. A couple of last drink (!) and then it was time to say goodbye!

Thanks Robert, Tony, Roger, Sean, Detlev, Ludwig, Martina, Lothar, Adrea, Kevin and Charlotte for your great company and friendship this week. And we are sure that this was not the last Edelweiss tour for you.

great group!

Day 6 - Rest day Ronda

Rest day Ronda! That sounds as if we are not going to do something today! Nothing less is true! After a nice, but not too long sleep in, those who wanted to ride a nice half day, took off at 10 sharp for an amzing nice ride around the arrea of Ronda and in the Grazalema nation park. Due to the easter festivities all the mountian villages were visited by a lot of people. Great atmpshere everywhere. Due to the late breakfast we decided to have a late coffestop at the scenic plaza in Grazalema, where there is always a nice atmosphere.

After that we continued throug Zahara and enjoyed this ride very much. In the afternoon there was some time for relaxing or sightseeing and shopping downtown.

A great day which we concluded with a taps happening in one of the best tapas restaurants in town

Day 5 - Arcos de la Frontera - Ronda

Today the group split up in three groups. Tony and Roger are on their own towards Tarifa to see the surf crowd, Ludwig, Detlev and Martina on their own skipping Gibraltar and the rest of the group with tourguide Ted on their way down towards the coast and to pay a visit to the famous Rock of Gibraltar.

Again a super day when it comes to the weather , which is anyway our best friend during this tour: every day a bright blue sky and wonderful riding temperatures

After a nice ride down from Antequera on nice and windy mountain roads we queued up for the waiting line at the border with Gibraltar. Big benefit of having a two-wheel vehicle is that you can pass and swerve through the lines of cars. So all together maybe 10-15 minutes and in we were. Stopping at the landing strip while an airplane came in is also something you don't see every day

First stop was the cable cart parking lot and after purchasing our tickets we moved up to the rock in 6 minutes. On top the group wandered around and enjoyed the fabulous views toeards europa an africa

Of course the berber monkees are also a big tourist attraction although they grab everything they can. After our return down in the city we moved on to the most southern point of Gibraltar; Europe point where we had a lunch. Moving back northbound we got out before the big crowd and went up back to the great riding roads towards Ronda

After a nice dinner and a warm evening we concluded this beautiful riding day of the Andalusiea tour with Edelweis bike travel

DAY 3 - GRENADA TO ANTEQUERA

After a noisy night in town because of the processions in the streets of the "Semana di Santa" we got up a litlle earlier as usual in order to be in time for our scheduled 9 a.m guided tour thorugh the Alhambra. Our local tourguide Carlos met us just before 9.am and also just before the speaker announced that all the tickets for the Alhambra for that day were already sold

So good news for us: we booked the tour already in advance so off we went for a nice tour through this amazing piece of history with its amazing gardens. And of course the clear blue sky and a warm sun do also a lot of good

Around noon the tour was over and we went on our bikes for a short highway ride and then we took off in the real mountains of Andalusia paved with olive trees

Tourguide Angela already prepared us a nice picnic so that was a real nice highlight of this day after the beautiful Alhambra

A nice windy road brought us in western direction towards Antequera where we drove in to our hotel for this night which has been a monestary for years. Fantastic area and breathtaking views lead us toward s the final chapter of today: the dinner. A very nice accomodated dinner concludes this beatiful riding day!
