Everybody back safely in Erding. Thank you guys for a wonderful week. It was a pleasure guiding you. Hope we met your expectations and hopefully we will see each other again.
Safe travels and all the best
Ursula, David and Michaela
last riding day!! Perfect weather and we leave Warth and the Jägeralpe, our wonderful hotel.
First stop is Plansee, embedded in the mountains and cristal clear water. Linderhof - the tiniest of the 3 castles of the crazy Bavarian King Ludwig II was the highlight of the day. We close the circle and head back to Erding.
At 8,200 ft. the Säntis is the highest mountain in eastern Switzerland. You can take a cablecar to the top and enjoy fantastic views of Lake Constance, the Appenzell country and the snow covered peaks of the Swiss Alps.
3 countries in one day! We are leaving France and going back to Germany to the Black Forest. A tiny little street leads us up to the Kandel Mountain and down to Hexenlochmühle. The best Black Forest Cake ever! Along Titisee and Schluchsee we reach the highest brewery in Europe - Rothaus. The Rhinefall in Schaffhausen, little Niagara was our afternoon stop. Everybody was happy to reach the hotel were David waited for us with a ice cold boot beer. Temperature: 36 C or 92 F.
Auf Wiedersehen Heidelberg! We head direction west, Black Forest and France are on the list today.
Schwarzwaldhochstraße with the endless speed limits, Mummelsee and the Rhine Valley which forms the border to France. The streets getting more challenging.
We set off to cruise through the charming Bavarian countryside. Leaving Erding we ride on smaller roads, just right to adjust to European traffic and driving habits.
We pass through Germany's most important hops-growing area, the Hallertau, before we cross the Danube. Across the “Fränkische Alb” we reach the “Romantic Road” linking some of the best preserved medieval towns of Germany. Tonight we stop in the most famous and most enchanting of them: Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
