Day 1: Klagenfurt - Motovun

So, may our journey begin and lead us through three different and beautiful countries, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia right st the first day.

Nice view from this WW2 memorial
That mosaic tells quite a lot of what happend during the war.
Little passport check at the Croatian border for all the non EU-Citizens.
Finally, after a long day with nearly 50km of detours due to construction sites we made it to Motovun where we´re gonna stay for the next two night.

Day 2: Restday in Motovun

"Restday" would probably not be the correct expression for what we did that day because it had nothing to do with resting. It was more about hopping through the two biggest islands of Croatia and riding some awesome twisty roads!

Taking the ferry to the first island, Cres.
After twenty minutes its time to get ready at the bikes to leave the ferry again.
Hard to focus on the roads if you´re having that view right next to you all the time.
Going for a walk in the old town centre of Cres.
After only looking at this crystal clear blue water it definately was time for a swim!
Puh, riding sweepers and twistys all day long could be quite exhausting so even this groups need a lil break from time to time.
Even tho it was a long day, there´s always time for a photo shooting with Motovun in the background.
What a timing! No words needed for that sunset view.

Day 3: Motovun - Plitvicka Jezera

At some point in life, you just have to move on. Which meant for us, we had to leave Motovun to go down south-east to our next destination for the upcoming two nights, Plitvicka Jezera.

Looking back to the islands where we rode the day before...
One of the best rides there is with one of the best bikes and best groups there is!
Could there be anything more refreshing after a long morning of riding than a cold glass of milk? At least not for Kalle.
Riding up the mountain road leaving the coast line.
Last view of the coast line with all its islands.

Day 4: Restday in Plitvicka Jezera

Today there are way too many options for fantastic stuff to do, so we figured that we got to split up. Some went hiking, took a boat tour, went riding throug Bosnia or spent the afternoon with a relaxing massage nevertheless everyone went for the national park to see the lakes!

What an idyll in the Plitvice Lakes National Park
With all its lakes and caves...
Luckily we were equiped pretty well so we even could do a little cave exploring
All the lakes are somehow connected, mostly by waterfalls, some are bigger and some are smaller.
Jordan and Randy at dinner with a little wooden heart in their middle

Day 5: Plitvicka Jezera - Novo Meesto

Riding through the Croatian Outlands in the early mornings.
Make sure you stay on the roads because there are a lot of leftovers from the war in 1991 - 1995 close to the borders.
Once in a while you just have to visit a castle.

Day 6: Novo Mesto - Klagenfurt

Time to go back to Austria through beautiful Slovenia
What could possibly happen being overlooked by a dragon.
Lining up the crew close to the austrian border.
Some nice curves close to the border and later on as well ofc.

I really enjoyed the trip and the smaller group (8) made it just that much easier to manage. This was my 2nd Edelweiss tour and once again the tour leader was excellent. Michael, it was a pleasure to be part of your group; you made it fun and nothing seemed to rattle your patience! Thank you again!

What a fantastic trip! I especially love the roads heading south from Rijeka to Plitvika along the coastline and east inland. Absolutely beautiful smooth twisting roads and switchbacks all day long. Amazing views of the coastline. Awesome bikes. I have to put this day as one of my best riding days ever!! And I think we have a great group of riders too.
