Sunday, August 4, 2019 | Anthony Fairweather | Europe / Italy

Day 6: Antholz to Mieming

Our last day begins with a blast back into the Dolomites. The Würzpass is a beautiful, narrow band of asphalt with a fantastic coffee stop at the top. We come down into the town of Brixen, then travel north through the Brenner valley and then tackle the twisties up the Jaufen Pass. After an excellent lunch at a historic Gasthaus in the Passeier valley we ride the final pass of the trip, the epic Timmelsjoch. At the top of the pass we cross the border from Italy into Austria and visit the excellent motorcycle museum just below the mountain top. The last miles of the trip take us down the Ötz valley and back to Mieming, the end of an awesome ride on some of the best mountain roads in the world.

Day 5: Levico Terme to Antholz

Today is all about the Dolomites, but first we battle our way through the black clouds of an epic thunderstorm. As we reach the top of the Manghen Pass the skies clear and we enjoy some of the bes riding of the tour so far. Passo Rolle, Passo Duran, Passo Giau are just some of the awesome roads we tackle today before we reach the Pustertal valley and our quaint hotel high up in the mountains.

Day 4: Rest Day in Levico Terme

Our rest day is a Best-Of of Northern Italy. We ride the Kaiserjägerstrasse, one of the narrowest roads so far, full of breathtaking views of the valley below. Next we head to Lake Garda for an excellent espresso on the shore then head towards Capovalle, a mecca for motorcycles. 800 curves in less then 20km! We stop for some excellent pasta at Lake Idro, then head up to Monte Bondone for more epic curves. Our day ends back in Levico Terme in a proper Italian pizzeria!.

Day 3: Monte Penegal to Levico Terme

Not too many pictures today as the weather turns from sunny skies to thunderstorms. First we take a relaxing ride through the hills of South Tyrol, then blast up the Gampenjoch. Next we head for Lago Molveno, the most beautiful lake in Italy, where we time our arrival at lunch perfectly as the skies open up arround us. As the last few drops fall away we set off again and make our way to Levico Terme, our home for the next two nights.

Day 2: Serfaus to Monte Penegal
