Day 1 - Arrival in Chiang Mai

Our Extreme team: Karl and Christian from Austria, Birgit, Johannes and Günter from Germany and Mark,  Cathy and Jeff from the US. Ready to start tomorrow!

Group dinner

Day 2 - Chiang Mai - Chiang Kham - 305 km

First riding day. Getting out of Chiang Mai with all the traffic was interresting but there was lots to see! Than the twisty roads in the mountains made the day! Barbecue at Rico Resort was the perfect ending. .

Day 3 - Chiang Khong - Nan - 300 km

Today we did the 1148, rated top ten of the best motorcycle roads in the world. What a fun ride! But the roads in the afternoon were even better. The boot beer at our hotel in Nan tasted great.

Day 4 - Restday Nan - 320 km

Most of the group did not really have a rest. On challenging backcountry roads along the Lao border we had riding at its best.

Day 5 - Nan - Chiang Khong - 340 km

The longest riding day of the trip. Exhausted but happy we arrived at our beautiful hotel in Chiang Khong, called  Sakuna Resort. Lunch at a waterfall and never ending curves, a hike to a lookout right on the border to Laos and in the end we met the Mekong,  the lifeline of Southeast Asia.  What a perfect day!

Day 6 - Chiang Khong - Mae Ai - 250 km

The Golden Triangle felt a little bit strange with all the Chinese tourist. Later  on we had some challenging hairpins on narrow roads along the Myanmar border. Everybody made it safe to the hotel.

Day 7 - Mai Ai - Pai - 280 km

A day full of highlights! Some challenging jungle tracks, elefants, waterfall and the road of the thousand curves to Pai. And not to forget: visiting the mountain village of our local tourguide Ping Pong. That was a special ecperience, having tea with his mom.

Day 8 - Pai - Mae Sariang - 270 km

A more relaxing day today,  but we still did 1800 curves!

The highlight beside the riding was the visit of a Long Neck village by boat. Really special!

Day 9 - Mae Sariang - Chiang Mai - 270 km

Unfortunately the last riding day back to Chiang Mai. It was not a boring one at all! The last technical roads around Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain of Thailand,  needed full concentration and the city traffic of Chiang Mai was not easy, but everybody made it safe to the hotel. Congratulation to the group. Well done!
