Pyrenees and MotoGP in Barcelona, what else? SPT22027

Sunday, June 5, 2022 | Domenico Schiano Moriello | Europe

Here we are! Left to right, Domenico, Tim, Ted, Armando, Bruce, Travis, Ken, Doug and Egisto

Day 1, Welcome to Castelldefels!

Welcome to Castelldefels (Barcelona)! What is better than a ride through the Pyrenees and to watch a MotoGP race for a passionate motorcyclist? Well, not many things! So, we started today with a quick welcome briefing and a warm-up ride... in the next days we are going to ride through northern Spain and southern France before finally heading back to Barcelona and go to the Catalunya racetrack where we will see if MotoGP racers are really better than us! Stay tuned!!!

Day 2, Castelldefels - Peramola

First full day of riding! Today we left the mediterranean coast of Spain and headed towards the inland, our first stop was at Montserrat, Catalunya's sacred mountain, and then we headed to Cardona where we had lunch in a medieval castle (cool!). Our destination was not far from there, but everybody wanted to ride "a little" longer, so we added some kilometres... and countless curves to the route, passing through Berga and Sant Llorenc.

Day 3, Peramola - Carcassonne

Tree countries in one day! We left Peramola, at the feet of the Pyrenees on a beautiful sunny morning and soon we reached Andorra, the second country on our list today, that is also famous for a kind of "duty free" shopping. We visited a local motorcycle gear shop and soon it was almost lunch time! We had lunch on the top of the Pas de la Casa, at an altitude of 2400 metres (nice and fresh!). After Andorra, we entered France and rode on the marvellous Col de Pailhères, before finally going back in time when we reached the medieval town of Carcassonne!

Day 4, Carcassonne - Mollo

Another good day! We left the beautiful medieval centre of Carcassonne and headed southwards direction Spain, where we reached the mountain village of Mollo just a few kilometres after crossing the border. Today's higlight was without any doubts the amazing Galamus canyon, with its tiny and curvy road carved into the cliff! Enjoy the pictures!

Day 5, Mollo - Sabadell

Not many pictures today, we were way too busy approaching hundreds of turns coming down from Mollo! We are back in Barcelona because tomorrow we are going to watch the MotoGP race!

Today we'll complete our loop!
Last coffee break!

Day 6, MotoGP!

The race day has finally arrived and this morning we headed to the Catalunya Circuit to watch our "heroes" live! Simply spectacular, amazing, even if it wasn't a good day for italian supporters! After the race, we headed to downtown Barcelona, where we are spending the last night... what a great end for this tour!!!

will I be able to find my bike after watching the race?
