Riding day 1 - Erding - Rothenburg - 270 km
What a perfect tour start! We left Erding without rain. The weatherforcast was wrong!
Taking it easy the first couple of miles, we still had fun enjoying the scenery and the little villages along the way. Lunch in the old town of Eichstätt was great. In the afternoon we strolled around Dinkelsbühl, an medieval town at the so called Romantic Road. But that was just an apatizer for our destination Rothenburg. The we jacked in at a historic hotel right in the center and had a superb dinner. After dinner we walked around the old town with the night watch man.
The end of a perfect day.
Riding day 2 - Rothenburg - Heidelberg - 190 km
Today was the day of castles. Folowing the river Jagst in the morning on some narrow country roads was fun. One castle in the morning, coffee at a monastery with an impressiv church and two castles to visit in the afternoon. The riding in between was also great.
Only the last hour coming into Heidelberg was a little bit stressful, but the group did really well.
We all earned a beer today.
Riding day 3 - Heidelberg - Ribeauville - 290 km
Today was the first day riding through the Black Forest. What a beautiful scenery! And wonderful twisty motorcycle roads. We had a great time. The group handled the challenging roads very well.
The boot beer at our hotel in Ribeauville right in the old town tasted great after a long riding day.
Riding day 4 - Restday ride Ribeauville - 200 km
6 fearless riders were not in the mood to rest and we went for an extended version of the restday ride.
We had a blast!
The rest of the group relaxed and visited the famous castle Königsbourg. Then they did some wine tasting.
It seems, that Everybody had a good day!
Riding day 5 - Ribeauville - Schaffhausen - 240 km
Today we were heading back to the Black Forest for some more twisty roads and breathtaking scenery.
At the Hexenlochmühle some decided to buy a original Kukuk Clock to ship home. Marco prepared another great picnic in a beautiful location. Our last highlight of today were the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen, really worth a visit !
Day 6 - Schaffhausen - Warth - 250 km
The Alps today were fantastic! Going up to the Schwägalpe and up to the Säntis mountain by cable car was just breathtaking. The two passes in Austria in the afternoon made the day perfect.
By the way, we even went through Liechtenstein, one of the smallest countries in the world
Day 7 - Warth - Erding - 240 km
Unfortunately our last riding day. We made it safe back to Erding. Some great riding and scenery. Beautiful Plansee and the stunning Linderhof castle of king Ludwig the second.
The bootbeer in Erding with live musik tasted wonderful.
