relaxing after another successful summit victory

day 1 - starting into the EXTREME

ready to start in Mieming
reaching Kühtai after the road was closed for a long time
lunch in Hochimst and Markus seems very much relaxed
on Gachenblick the weather turns the wrong way
talking to riders coming from Kaunertal Glacier - don't go there, its snowing too hard, so we turned around and saved the toll

day 2 - a bit more EXTREME

one little step into Switzerland
rain at Reschen Lake, what's coming up on Stelvio
expect the worst, you will not be disappointed
fog and snow of course
weather getting better on the way down to Bormio
diving into the clouds
the brave croud made it safe
on Gavia Pass the same
again, everybody made it safe up and down
Tonale Pass was a bit of relieve

day 3 - a bit less EXTREME

next morning on Penegal no rain but still....
...not much to see
being stopped by a helicopter
around noon the sun came out on Gampen Pass to say "hello"
Molveno Lake with Brenta Mountains
the further south we go, the warmer it gets - but we didn't see the sun
fun ride on Monte Bondone - part of the Giro 2023

day 4 - least EXTREME

riding the loop to Lake Garda over the "Kaiserjägersteig" (built by Austrian soldiers in1915)
Lee, Steven and Cesar
with this view always good for a selfie
on the way to the restaurant at the lake
pizza for dinner, now pasta for lunch
looks a bit more friendly with the sun
Strada della Forra
"A Quantum Of Solace"
secret hidden places - Laghi di Lamar
dinner - Pizza for all
with home-brewed beer

day 5 - we are increasing again - 6 out of 7

"best riding there is" - Manghen Pass
Cesar posing
Rolle Pass - #2 for today
a bit of "Sound of Music"
Passo Duran - #4 today
the leader
Staulanza Pass - #5
first getting dark and rain
followed by hail - Passo Giau #6
skipping #7 (Passo Tre Croci) - we all made it safe to Dobbiaco

day 6 - riding home

the next morning and the final day
bikers welcome
to have a nice cappuccino on lounge chairs in the sun
last ascend to Passo Rombo
looking down might scare some
better looking up
summit victory
not over yet before you haven't seen the "Top Mountain Experience"
with its unique exhibits
last coffee at the museum with the glaciers in the background where "Ötzi" was found
