Our second riding day led us from Pontresina to the town Brunnen, which lies at the shore of the beautiful Vierwaldstätter See and we were lucky enough to have a hotel directly at the lake. To get to our goal of Brunnen we got to ride 5 different mountain passed today.
Some nice views on our first mountain pass of today, the Maloja Pass.
For lunch we stopped at a nice little pizzaria in the middle of nowhere that even had its own waterfall.
That looks like fun, and it was.
The view from our hotel over the lake, cant get much better than this.
Our trusted sweeper of the day, thanks for doing a great job today.
Another great day will start today
Today we already have to leave Zermatt again. But since we are already and we are having a shorter riding day to Lugano anyway, some of us decided to go up to the Gornergrat by train and enjoy the view over the surounding mountains and of course look at the famous Matterhorn from up close. The rest of our group also had a good time and used our little excursion to do some shopping and sightseeing in Zermatt.
The famous stone eagle on the Simplon Pass standing guard over the road.
We also did some sightseeing today and stopped by the impressive Cathedral Santuario Della Madonna Del Sangue.
Our goal of today is Bozen, the capitol of this part of Italy and a beautiful city with a huge historic city center.
Some great coffee, cake and icecream makes for a good start of the day.
You definitly have to stop at the beautiful Molveno lake, what a great view.
Today we had a little surprise alont the road, the traditional Edelweiss picknick.
Michael - the Edelweiss apron definitly suits him.
Our last stop today before we head to our hotel was ontop of the Monte Penegal, overlooking the valley.
Today we enter the Dolomites with the best weather conditions.
While part of our group went for a long ride, the rest took it slow today and went for a shorter ride, so we could still spend some time in Bozen or at the hotel pool in the afternoon.
Quite busy today on the Sella Joch, but no suprise with this view up here.
Our last riding day leads us back from South Tyrols capital Bozen to the Edelweiss garage in Mieming where we retourn our bikes before we head back to Seefeld, where we started our tripp.
Reaching the end of a tour is always a bit sad, but at least we are having another great day on the bikes going over the Penser Joch, the Jaufen Pass and finaly the Timmelsjoch as another hightlight on this wonderfull tour.
Stuart, our volunteer at todays briefing.
Cloudy weather up on the Penser Joch.
Time to warm up with some coffee and cake.
For lunch we stopped at the famous Sandwirt, birthplace of Andreas Hofer.
Apart from riding our visit to the motorcycle museum on top of the Timmelsjoch was another hightlight today. What a collection of historic motorcycles and cars.
