DAY 4
Today we had an absolutely perfect day of riding on curvy mountain roads. After hundreds of switschbacks through a landscape with countless lakes and rivers in the morning and a moon-looking landscape at noon we reached the Lysefjord. Easily comparable with the Geiranger- or Sognefjord the majestic "Lightfjord" is 1,640 ft. deep, surrounded by 3,280 ft. high rockwalls. And could there be any better after-ride activity like going to the beach to swim? And yes, we are still in norway!

DAY 3
Not every day the sun can shine... but we are happy anyway! The roads are becoming more interesting than the first day and we are feeling the spirit of Norway becoming stronger. We jump into history along our ride... visiting Heddal Stave church, the biggest in Norway, and an old village near the hotel in Telemark...

DAY 2
Today it's a rest day! Already? Yes, because a great motorcycle tour includes also some good sightseeing options, like Oslo, the capital of Norway. Part of the group decides to go for a ride along the nearby lake and some others prefer to dive into the urban scenery and enjoy a day trough Viking, Maritime and Polar explorations museums, boat rides, an old fort and a nice stroll along Aker Brygge, the fancy waterfront of the city.

DAY 1
Our small group of Americans (Larry, Susan, Tom, Lynn, Craig), one Canadian (Gordon) and the tour guides Manuel (Italian) & Michael (German) is ready to leave Sweden and sail... ehm, ride along Norwegian fjords, mountain plateaus, lake and lots, lots of fantastic twisty roads. Another great motorcycle tour around Scandinavia is beginning!
Some of us had the chance to arrive a bit earlier in the pretty city of Gothenburg, bustling of life for the combination of school holiday and Madonna performing a concert. The crew stayed at our hotel and all the evening we were delighted by some of her hits. A couple of weeks ago also Lenny Kravitz lodged at our hotel, this place seems pretty busy and glamour. Just a few shots of Gothenburg by night, which is not so dark since we are just after midsommer. Riding towards north we will get closer to the land of the midnight sun...
After leaving the coastal town of Gothenburg we are heading towards Oslo, the capital of Norway, where we will enjoy a rest day. On the way there we were blessed with a perfect riding temperature of 23 degrees, blue sky and sunshine...
Gordon has already started to taste some local flavours: super sweet strawberries, sold at every corner in this period.
And this is the terrace of out lunch break. Isn't it lovely to eat outdoor in Scandinavia?
Not only Ducati is red:
And after lunch, what about having a siesta on this tempting green grass?
See you soon for new updates of the motorbike Viking tour around Norway and Sweden...
