Welcome to our Tour of Southern France. A place made for motorcycles with amazing roads, beautiful scenery and a great culture for us to explore.
Today we are heading further west into the Département Vaucluse with Avignon as our final goal for today.
Heute geht es weiter Richtung Westen in das Département Vaucluse mit Avignon als dem heutigen Tagesziel.
Our first stop of today is in a the beautiful little town called Roussillion where some of us used the time to have a little walk through the village, while the rest enjoyed their coffee.
There are so many beautiful little towns in France, Gordes was just one of them.
Lauren took this picture of the great view we had in Sault where we did our lunch break.
Sadly, we had a lot of fog while going over the Mont Ventoux, but the sheep didnt seem to mind. Luckily the view was great again once we got further down.
Paul organized some "Boot Beer", perfect refreshment after a nice day of riding.
Our Hotel in Avignon was impressive, the dinner and the staff just excellent.
We spent our Restday in a lovely hotel in La Muse that even had a pool.
Unseren Rasttag verbrachten wir in einem bezaubernden Hotel in La Muse, das sogar einen Pool hatte.
While some of us used to rest day to relax and save their energy for the great riding days to come, others drove a little tour in the area.
One of the highlights in the area, apart from the great riding roads, is the enormous cave called Aven Armand filled with stalagmites and stalactites that was discovered 1897 by Louis Armand.
Todd and Lauren decided to take a different route and discovered the Viaduc de Millau, one of the highest bridges in the world.
It was a bit hard to leave our lovely hotel behind but a nice day of riding lay ahead of us.
What a nice view on top of the Col de la Bataille
Todd and Lauren at the well deserved coffee stop.
Edemar and Aline did a little walk in Chambery and discovered an elephant.
Very welcome refreshment after a nice day of riding through beautiful France.
For the first time on this tour we are having some bad weather.
Waiting for the rain to stop.
When we arrived at our lovely hotel the weather was perfect again so we could enjoy some drinks outside.
