Adventure Machu Picchu / ACP2202

Wednesday, June 29, 2022 | Marc Adamiak | North and South America

In the next 10 days, Peru with its attractions is waiting for us to be discovered.

We will ride the Panamericana, see the Nazca lines, visit Machu Picchu, Cuzco and the floating islands on lake Titicaca.

Before returning to Arequipa, the flight of the condor in Colca Canyon will take our breath and we already start to dream  of the next Tour.

Arequipa to Puerto Inca

On our first riding day, we will leave the "white city" of Arequipa. The ride along the beautiful coast is on the Panamericana to a very nice hotel in a little bay -  Puerto Inca

Early start
Lunch break at the coast
Typical soup with seafood
A last stop before arrival at the hotel
Dinner is well deserved today

Puerto Inca to Nazca

Today, we will have a shorter ride, leave the coast and will see the Nazca lines.

Quick visit in a "whale museum"

Nazca to Chalhuanca

Leaving from almost sealevel, we quickly will gain altitude - crossing 4500 meters and more in the highest point. On our route,  we will see the world's highest sand dune and enjoy the curves while riding through the natural Habitat of the Vicuñas (of the Lama and Alpaca family). After an amazing day, our hotel in Chalhuanca then resides at about 2900 meters.

Chalhuanca to Ollantaytambo

Another great day is waiting for us - with amazing landscapes, curves and more. At the end, we will ride into the sacred valley and stay in Ollantaytambo. From there, we will start to see Machu Picchu tomorrow.

Starting with a ride in a panorama train, we will then visit the famous Inka ruins of Machu Picchu. Wait for some more beautiful pictures....

Ollantaytambo to Cuzco

The ride today will be quite short. On the way to the old Inka capital Cuzco, we will visit a Salt mine, enjoy a nice lunch and see handcraft. In the afternoon, Cuzco wants to be discovered.

Cuzco to Puno (at Lake Titicaca)

Lake Titicaca and the floating islands are our next destination. But first, we'll master a long but nevertheless interesting riding day towards the bolivian border, which is not far away.
